Starting to add Spring touches… to get out of the Winter Blues.

Hello all!!! Spring is just around the corner, and things are certainly starting to look a little bit more “cheery” here at MCG (Making Chaos Graceful). Simple touches of pink/blush popping up around my home has certainly helped with kicking my out of the “Winter Blues”.

This blog has been a dream of mine for a very long time. Despite having a very busy life with kids and work.  I have always had a passion with decorating. Currently I live in a Colonial style home with 5 people living in a 3 bedroom 1.5 bathroom home with only 1200 square feet. The layout of my home certainly does have some decorating and designing challenges, but I attempt to curate a Graceful functional home.  With just about every purchase I make for the home, I always keep 5 things in the back of my mind.

  1. Is it within budget
  2. Will it be functional in the space
  3. Does it offer some sort of storage
  4. Is it “pretty”
  5. Will it hold up against the chaos of my children.

DSC_0119DSC_0268This ottoman is an example of checking off all the boxes for budget, storage, functionality, pretty, and it has withstood 2 toddlers running—- crashing—- and jumping from and onto the ottoman (Alll—- the— time)

I was so happy to bring out some of my floral decorations. Along with my DYI wreaths.

I purchased my table/chairs probably about 2 years ago, and I am still loving the style and functionality of the furniture selection. The table is a Pier One find that has certainly checked the boxes for budget friendly and holding up very well against 2 toddlers. The chairs were an find, and I have absolutely loved how they have held against a family of five. It certainly has a rustic vibe, which means, more dents and dings for normal “wear and tear” is welcome (within reason)

Lastly, I was really excited to change and swap some of my bedding around. I went from having  “dark and moody” bedding, to a bright white with some more blush accents. I love how airy and bright its made our bedroom.

Thank you for stopping by. I would be glad to hear from you, for any type of feedback. Send me a message in the Contact link.
