Home Tour

Welcome! Thanks for stopping by!! If your new here, I created this blog because I have a love for decorating and organizing. This is my first house that I purchased about 5 years ago. It’s home to a family of 5 plus 1 fur-baby. It’s a Colonial Style home that has only 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. This is an older home that was built-in 1952. Since it’s an older home, there is always a long list of “things to do” or things to fix. My hope, is to provide some inspiration to everyone about how, you can decorate and organize your home on a budget. All content that is provided, is all 100% orginal content and photographed by me! Any products and affliate links provided are items that I currently use in my home, and would certainly recommend.

This is our main living space that gets used daily. I do have one corner that isn’t photographed, and that’s the TV corner. I have plans to change things up in here, so stay tuned for some upgrades!!!

Dining Room

Ever since I purchased this dining table and chairs, I have been so pleased with its classic style and functionality. Both the table and chairs can truly take a “beating” and still looks great.

We recently made an upgrade to this space, by changing the tile back-splash, changing the counter-tops, changing the sink/faucet, and re-painting all the cabinets. This kitchen was in desperate need of a face-lift and was completely done as a DIY project. There are still a few things left on the “to-do-list”, like installing a new microwave and upgrading the refrigerator. That will get taken care of in time.

This cabinet above actually serves as our pantry. The multi-purpose containers certainly serves us well with making good use of vertical space, when space is limited. I long for the day, when I can actually have a formal pantry.

The side entrance is very small. Hanging jackets, bags, and managing shoes can certainly be a hassle at times. Managing everyone’s shoes, got so much easier after I bought and installed these shoe organizers (from Ikea). I mean, I really cannot tell you how much I have loved having these.

Upstairs Bathroom

The upstairs bathroom is our one and only shower in the house. This was probably our very first major project around the house that got completed a couple of years ago. We re-tiled the shower and changed the shower fixtures. It was a DIY project that lasted for pretty much a month, but in the end it turned out to be something that I am very proud to say, that “I did this”.

Adding this closet drawer system has pretty much doubled the storage capabilities in our shared, small, master closet. It looks great, and functions very well.

My oldest son, got a bit of a bedroom make-over with a new rug and bedding after he turned 14. Check out this blog post, for a few more details on how I organized his space.

Living in a small home that’s only 1200 square feet, has had some challenges, and I wanted to give my reader’s some sources for how I organize and decorate my small space.  Stay tuned for more inspiration, because I have the feeling that I am just getting started!!
